Harrison Public Schools Continues To Go Above and Beyond to Keep Students Safe

Just over 100 Harrison kindergarten students are home for a 14-day quarantine.  These students were exposed to an asymptomatic individual last week who tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend.

Current district procedures have been developed carefully following Arkansas Department of Health guidelines to best protect our students, staff, and community.  These protocols state that anyone exposed to a positive individual within a distance of 6 feet for 15 cumulative minutes during a 24-hour period will be quarantined for two weeks.

During this time, HPS provides off site education for all students.  Each child receives technology to support at-home learning, and district educators are working to provide quality instruction and support in new and innovative ways.

District administrators made personal phone calls to inform families yesterday afternoon and evening, and were overwhelmed by the positive and understanding responses of those involved.  Thank you for your support!
