Our 8th grade students recently had the opportunity to visit the Be Pro Be Proud Mobile Workshop, an interactive traveling exhibit that introduces students to high-demand skilled careers.
During the visit, students explored hands-on simulations for careers such as construction, heavy equipment operation, industrial robotics, 3-D modeling, locomotive engineering, lineman work, truck driving, and even careers connected to submarine manufacturing and advanced industry.
These careers are essential to keeping our country running and often offer excellent pay and strong job outlooks, with many skilled trades earning $50,000–$100,000+ per year depending on experience and training.
Experiences like this help our 8th graders begin thinking about their future and exploring the many pathways available after high school. Not every successful career requires a traditional four-year degree—many skilled professions offer high pay, high demand, and meaningful work that builds our communities.
We are excited for our students to start exploring their interests and setting goals for their future! 👷♂️🚧⚙️
