A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today at Skyline Heights for the school's new book vending machine. Mrs. Melissa McDonald, Skyline's media specialist, proposed the idea earlier this year. To obtain funding, she wrote a grant to the Harrison Public Schools Foundation who in turn funded the purchase.
This innovative project, appropriately launched during November's National Family Literacy Month, will allow students to select and purchase books from the machine with tokens earned for positive behaviors each week.
Books to stock the machine will be purchased by Mrs. McDonald using profits earned from her Book Fair fundraisers.
Thank you, Mrs. McDonald for all of your work to strengthen literacy skills in our students!
Thank you also to the Harrison Public Schools Foundation for your support of our schools!
#GoGobs!

Evy was the winning bidder on Librarian for the Day last week at our Fall Fest. She did a great job today doing all things library! From checking books in and out to shelving and leading classes in directed draws that went along with our read aloud, and reading to the life skills class, she did it all! She even did car rider duty this afternoon.
