Students in Harrison Middle School's Gifted and Talented program have been learning about business, economics, and entrepreneurship. Under the direction of their teacher, Becca Jackson, students have studied marketing, product development, target audiences, and customer service. Through research, education, and exploration, the students have worked hard to expand their knowledge and skills.
Each student proposed their own product to sell, carefully considering ease of production, costs, and target audience. They then worked diligently to build their product supply . In addition to their products, they also studied good communication and customer service skills.
A guest speaker, Trevor Angel, Operations Director of Chick-fil-A Springdale at Sunset Ave., came and spoke to the students, sharing with them components from the restaurant chain's popular customer service model. Students learned about the history of the restaurant, how to start and operate a successful business, scholarship opportunities, and advice for selling the products they have created!
For the past few weeks, GT students have been putting their skills to the test - selling their products each Saturday at the Farmers and Artisans Market of Harrison. We hope you will drop by their booth tomorrow morning on the square!
Good job, students!
