Kindergarteners in Mrs. Waller's class presented their "Class Zoo Project" this morning to various members of our faculty, staff, and administration. Students had worked together in small groups to research different animals, learning about their traits and habitats. When the research was completed, tasks were divided to allow each student to display their individual gifts and skills. Some students drew pictures to illustrate the presentations. Other students wrote scripts for narration. Several students worked to carefully type information onto slides, while still others created a beautiful, artistic diorama of the class zoo.

"What I like best about this project is that every child gets to showcase their own strengths and talents", said Mrs. Waller. "We started this school year learning our ABC's and the sounds they make, so to see the students researching, reading, writing, typing, and presenting today - it really shows how hard they have worked and how far they have come."

District administrators, including Dr. Stewart Pratt (Superintendent) and Dr. Lewis Villines (Assistant Superintendent) were in attendance for the students' presentations. The students were obviously well-rehearsed and well-prepared, confident in the information they were presenting.
