Harrison's community spirit shone brightly this week at the Kaylee Cox Bankston Pink Out Volleyball Match and Survivor Event, organized by Coach April Mattix and the Harrison Volleyball team.
The event successfully raised an amazing $1511 for cancer research and support—all thanks to the generosity of the community!
The evening was a powerful tribute to those affected by cancer. Instead of a traditional walk, the event featured cancer survivors, their friends, and family walking the court to the cheers of the standing fans. The team proudly celebrated those who have overcome cancer and also took a moment to stand in memory of those who have been lost.
Coach Mattix, who organized the event after reaching out to Doug Cox to support his daughter Kaylee’s cause, shared her pride: "It was such a great opportunity to support our friends and celebrate those who have overcome cancer. I was proud of the team for showing such kindness to such a great cause."
The check was presented to Doug Cox and his brother Steve on behalf of the Bankston family.
Thank you to everyone who made this special night of athletic competition and community support possible!
