Harrison Schools is proud to announce that Matt Piper, District Reading and Dyslexia Specialist, has been invited to serve on the Arkansas Dyslexia Resource Guide (DRG) Committee. Mr. Piper is one of only ten individuals across the state selected for this significant role.
The DRG Committee is tasked with the vital work of developing and maintaining the Arkansas Dyslexia Resource Guide (DRG). This guide provides essential clarity and direction to school districts, public schools, public charter schools, and teachers on how to fully comply with the state's "Rules Governing Dyslexia Screenings and Intervention". The committee's work is crucial for addressing best practices in the assessment, identification, and services for students with dyslexia across Arkansas.
The invitation to serve was extended by Arkansas Commissioner of Education Jacob Oliva, who stated, "Based on your experience working in the public school and your knowledge and expertise in dyslexia screening and interventions, we believe you would be a valuable member of this committee."
Please join us in congratulating Matt Piper on this excellent opportunity to shape educational policy at the state level!
