It's a day for big debates and cutting-edge tech in Shelly Hyatt's 4th Grade classroom!

Students are engaged in an amazing "Mystery Science" unit that has them deep-diving into the animal kingdom. The challenging question of the week? "Would you rather be a parrot or an octopus?"

This interesting project fuses science with language arts! Students first conducted research on both fascinating creatures, then used their findings to write opinion papers defending their choice. The final step was transforming those papers into original podcast scripts.

Today, they’re bringing their scripts to life using the Seesaw app to record their podcasts! Students are taking turns as host and guest, interviewing each other about their opinions and sharing the amazing facts they learned. It’s a fantastic way to practice communication, scriptwriting, and digital literacy.

Way to go, 4th graders—you're mastering the art of the scientific discussion!
