Harrison’s Strengths: Outperforming the State
Harrison School District’s strong 'B' grade is built upon several key areas where our students and staff perform exceptionally well and significantly outpace the state average:
Exceptional Graduation Rate: The district boasts a 96% four-year graduation rate, which is a full 6 percentage points higher than the statewide average of 90%.
Success-Ready Graduates: An impressive 64% of Harrison students graduate prepared for enrollment, employment, or enlistment—a rate that is 9 percentage points higher than the state average of 55%.
High Academic Achievement: HSD students demonstrated superior mastery of core subjects, with proficiency rates in English Language Arts, Math, and Science that are well above the state averages.
While celebrating this achievement, HSD leadership emphasized that the district is already focused on closing the few points separating them from the top 'A' grade. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stewart Pratt stated, "I am incredibly proud of our staff and students' work. We are already formulating strategic plans to continue improving achievement and growth to move into the 'A' range."
