This morning, a group of our motivated Harrison High School students got a behind-the-scenes look at where their future careers could begin, thanks to a career exploration tour organized by our local North Arkansas College.
The exploration started at Northark's nouth campus Tech Center. Our students saw real-world skills being developed across high-demand trades including:
HVAC
Automotive (engines)
Automotive (body shop)
Welding Technology
Construction
Small Engine and Outdoor Power Equipment Repair shop
CNA
Next, the tour progressed to Northark's south campus, where students immersed themselves in innovation at the Center for Robotics and Manufacturing Education. They witnessed how automation is shaping modern industry, giving them a glimpse into high-tech, high-demand fields.
This visit wasn't just about seeing what's possible; it was about realizing what's available right now. The core mission of our Harrison Schools career assistance is to build clear pathways to success, and the partnership with Northark is valuable
Many of these incredible, industry-recognized programs are accessible to students while they are still in high school. By enrolling early, our students can walk across the graduation stage with not just their HHS diploma, but also the skills, certifications, and training needed to go straight into their chosen field, industry, or continue seamlessly into a technical degree. The best part - through a partnership between North Arkansas College and Harrison High School, students can take the trade center courses free of charge.
