This morning, students enrolled in our Pre-Educator Pathway program got a valuable, firsthand look at the teaching profession. They spent time job shadowing in local kindergarten classrooms , interacting with teachers and students, and gaining insight into the daily roles and responsibilities of an educator.
Led by teacher Lisa Dixon, the Pre-Educator Pathway is designed to give students a significant head start on a future career in the classroom. The program offers distinct advantages:
Concurrent College Credit: Students enroll in specialized classes at Harrison High that count for college credit, significantly reducing the cost and time needed for a college degree.
Career-Focused Internships: The program includes structured internship opportunities that build essential experience and are strategically mapped to help graduates achieve their professional teaching license with no or low cost.
Real-World Experience: Ongoing job shadowing and classroom observation opportunities, such as today's kindergarten visits, provide practical skills and a deep understanding of the teaching profession.
We are committed to nurturing the next generation of outstanding educators at Harrison Schools. Great job to all the students who stepped into the classroom today!
