This morning, a group of Harrison High School students had an incredible opportunity to attend a Health Career Day hosted by the fantastic team at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center (NARMC) right here in Harrison.

The event was an eye-opener, kicking off with powerful presentations from several NARMC team members. They generously shared the unique paths that led them to their current roles, offering invaluable insight into their day-to-day responsibilities and the dedication required in their respective fields.

While healthcare was the central theme, students were surprised and excited to learn about the vast array of careers that keep a major medical facility running smoothly. The subsequent facility tour highlighted a myriad of employment opportunities beyond traditional clinical roles.

Students discovered careers in:

  • Direct Patient Care (Nursing, Techs)

  • Dietetics and Nutrition

  • Technical/IT Support

  • Construction and Plumbing

  • Administration and Management

This event truly emphasized that a hospital is a dynamic and complex organization requiring talent from all career clusters—proving there is a rewarding path for almost every student interest.

A sincere thank you goes out to NARMC for hosting this event and investing in the future workforce of Harrison! We also want to recognize the hard work of the HHS Career Coaches who organized this essential experiential learning opportunity for our students.

It was a successful morning that sparked future career ideas and connected our students with local professionals!
