Our Harrison Middle School (HMS) FBLA students continue to embody the spirit of service and community! This week, a group of dedicated FBLA members visited Countryside Assisted Living, bringing smiles, technological assistance, and a touch of the holiday spirit to residents.
Students enthusiastically helped residents navigate their phones, played engaging games on iPads, and shared conversations that brightened everyone's day. True to their "Knitting for a Cause" initiative, they also brought along beautifully knitted hats and thoughtful Christmas cards, adding an extra layer of warmth and personal connection.
The visit was a resounding success, with Countryside Assisted Living sharing, "Our residents really enjoyed the time with the kids. We told them to come back every week if they wanted to."
This heartwarming interaction is a testament to the character and commitment of our HMS FBLA students, who are known for their impactful "Knitting for a Cause" project. Led by FBLA sponsor Molly Thurman, this initiative, which started as "Knitting for Noggins" over 17 years ago, sees students knitting warm caps for those in need. Last year, under student Ella Davidson's leadership, they delivered 900 caps to Arkansas Children's Hospital and 200 to North Arkansas Regional Medical Center!
This year, the project has expanded to include local resident homes, perfectly aligning with their visit to Countryside. Our FBLA Goblins are currently knitting hats for preemie babies, baby hats for Arkansas Children's Hospital, and more hats for local nursing homes.
We are incredibly proud of our Harrison Middle School FBLA for their dedication to making a positive difference in our community! Their efforts truly weave warmth and hope into the lives of so many.
