Rebecca Williams and Dr. Stewart Pratt

At last night’s meeting, Dr. Stewart Pratt and the Harrison Board of Education had the privilege of honoring District Homeless Liaison Rebecca Williams with a well-deserved standing ovation.

Rebecca works tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure that barriers to education are removed for our students and families in need. This past holiday season, her efforts—and the generosity of our community—were extraordinary.

This year, Rebecca coordinated a massive partnership with The Great Gift Exchange (A Level Up), an organization that adopted Boone County schools. Rebecca served as the point of contact, ensuring 155 students (Pre-K through 3rd grade) received holiday gifts. She, along with wonderful community volunteers, turned the Harrison Schools Professional Development Center into a workshop—organizing items, contacting families, and greeting everyone with a smile during pickup.

While the Great Gift Exchange focused on younger students, our community stepped up to ensure no student was left behind. According to district reports, over 340 students were sponsored for Christmas this year through various partnerships.

THANK YOU to our community partners! We couldn't do this without The Great Gift Exchange, CCM, Refuge Hair Company, RPM, Real Ministries, Wellspring Community, First Baptist Church, BNC, Buffalo National River, Harrison Faith-Next Gen, First Presbyterian, Crossroads, 1st Christian Church, Bellefonte Global Methodist, and our amazing PTA donors.

Rebecca, THANK YOU for being a champion for our students. And to our community—THANK YOU for proving that Harrison cares!
