Arvest team with books

Literacy was the guest of honor last week as the Harrison School District celebrated Read Across America Week. This annual event is a favorite for students and staff alike, but it truly comes to life when our local community members step into the classroom to share their favorite stories.

This year, we were honored to welcome a large team from Arvest Bank to our campuses. From the curious listeners at Harrison Preschool to the enthusiastic readers at Skyline Heights and Forest Heights Elementary, the "read aloud" sessions were one of the highlights of the week.

The Harrison School District is fortunate to have a wide array of local businesses and financial institutions that invest in our children’s futures. These partnerships are the heartbeat of our success, and seeing the Arvest team engage directly with our students is a wonderful example of that community spirit in action.

By bringing leaders from the professional world into the classroom, our students see firsthand that reading is a skill that opens doors far beyond the school walls.

A project of this scale requires careful planning, and we would like to extend a sincere thank you to Arvest employee Spree Ragland. Spree worked closely with our staff to coordinate the logistics across three different schools, ensuring that as many students as possible could participate in the joy of a shared story.

We are incredibly grateful to the entire Arvest team for their time, their energy, and their continued presence in our halls. It is through the collective support of our community partners that we can provide our students with such enriching experiences.
