STUCO recognized at Board Meeting

Harrison High School recently welcomed student leaders from across Arkansas for the 85th Arkansas Association of Student Councils (AASC) State Conference. Utilizing the HHS Performing Arts Center (PAC) as a gathering space, our students hosted 120 peers and advisors from 12 different schools under the theme "Natural State, Natural Leaders."

The HHS Student Council and advisor Heather Thornton were officially recognized at last night’s Board of Education meeting for their hard work in organizing the event and for the hospitality they showed to our guests. During the conference, several Goblins received notable state-level honors:

  • Ella Domino: Named AASC Student Council Member of the Year ($500 Scholarship Winner)

  • Heather Thornton: Honored as AASC Advisor of the Year

  • Harrison High School: Designated as a "Gold School"

  • HHS Student Council: Recipient of the School Spirit Award

We are incredibly proud of these students for their leadership and for making our visitors feel truly welcome in Harrison. A special congratulations goes to Mrs. Thornton for her state-level recognition; her commitment to mentoring these young leaders is a vital part of "Building the Future — Every Learner, Every Day, Every Way" at Harrison Schools.
