Harrison School District is seeking an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 7-12 teaching/coaching position. The available girls' basketball coaching positions range from 7th to 12th grade. A second sport would be determined. Available teaching positions include Driver's Education, Health, Social Studies, and Math.
Position Focus & Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be a student-centered professional who will fulfill the following Job Requirements:
● Instructional Leadership & Curriculum: Create and deliver specialized instruction motivating students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation per each pupil's ability; and demonstrate experience in examining, interpreting, and using student assessment data.
● Classroom Environment & Management: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; and ensure strong student engagement.
● Communication & Collaboration: Formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and other staff members; and demonstrate effective communication within the school community.
● Technology & Operations: Effectively use Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital resources (e.g., Canvas, Google Classroom); and develop and maintain required paperwork.
Minimum Qualifications & Desired Attributes: Harrison School District is seeking an individual who meets the following criteria:
Required Qualifications
● Licensure: Must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification.
● Status: Must possess Arkansas Qualified Teacher (HQT) status.
● Certifications: CDL or the ability to obtain one.
● Professional Background: Previous experience required; candidates should have a strong background in coaching, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
● Skills: Knowledge of effective instruction and disaggregation of data, and display excellent people skills.
● Technology: Willingness to attain or possess Google Level One Certification.
