Harrison School District is seeking a Head High School Football Coach for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 9-12 teaching/coaching position. The ideal candidate will lead the program, focusing on player and program development, strategic game management, and fostering a competitive, positive culture. Candidates should have a strong background in coaching, with previous experience as a successful head football coach or coordinator preferred. The coach will manage all aspects of the program, including organizing and supervising the program for 7th through 12th grades and serving as a district liaison to the youth football program. Classroom teaching options or opportunities may include Driver's Ed, Physical Education, Health, ISS, ALE, or Social Studies.
Position Focus & Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a student-centered professional who will fulfill the following job requirements:
● Leadership: Manage the football program (7th-12th grade), develop team strategy, coordinate the offseason program, and oversee/mentor coaching staff. Liaison for youth football program.
● Experience: Proven experience coaching football, with a preference for head coach or coordinator experience.
● Player Development: Focus on skill development, team discipline, and academic success.
● Offseason Management: Design and coordinate an offseason program for 7th through 12th grades.
● Program Culture: Build a positive, competitive environment for student-athletes.
● Administrative Duties: Collaborate with the Athletic Director to schedule games and manage purchases.
● Instructional Leadership & Curriculum: Create and deliver specialized instruction, motivating students to develop skills and knowledge according to each pupil's ability.
● Data Analysis: Demonstrate experience in examining, interpreting, and using student assessment data.
● Classroom Management: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth while establishing effective rapport with pupils.
● Engagement: Ensure strong student engagement within the classroom.
● Communication & Collaboration: Formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and staff members, and engage in the PLC process.
● Technology & Operations: Effectively use Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital resources (e.g., Canvas, Google Classroom) and maintain required paperwork.

Required Qualifications
● Licensure: Must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification
● Status: Must possess Arkansas Qualified Teacher (AQT) status.
● Certifications: CDL or the ability to obtain one.
● Professional Background: Previous experience required; candidates should have a strong background in coaching.
● Skills: Knowledge of effective instruction and disaggregation of data, and display excellent people skills.
● Technology: Willingness to attain or possess Google Level One Certification.
