Little Learners, Big Discoveries (Photo of three kindergarten students with magnifying glasses

Our littlest Goblins have been busy as bees lately! Our kindergarten classes just wrapped up an incredible, hands-on unit all about the world of insects.

Students took a deep dive into the secret lives of "cool" creepy-crawlies. From the complex social structures of the hive to the magic of the cocoon, it’s been a week of wonder and discovery.

Did you know that every bee in a hive has a specific job? Our students explored the honey-making process from flower to jar. They learned all about:

The Queen Bee: The leader of the hive.

Worker Bees: The diligent team members who keep everything running smoothly.

The Process: How nectar becomes the sweet honey we love!

The excitement didn't stop at the hive! Students also witnessed the "incredible transformation" of metamorphosis. Seeing caterpillars transition into beautiful butterflies brought the science of life cycles off the pages of books and right into their classrooms.

"It was a wonderful deep dive into the world of 'cool' creepy-crawlies!"
— Heather Waller, Kindergarten Media Specialist

We are so proud of our young scientists for their curiosity and enthusiasm. A huge thank you to Mrs. Waller and our kindergarten team for making science so "buzz-worthy" and engaging!
