Harrison Middle School business educator Molly Thurman was recently recognized at the annual Arkansas Business Education Association (ABEA) Conference, bringing home two prestigious state-level honors: Arkansas Business Educator New Teacher of the Year and ABEA District Representative of the Year.
The ABEA New Teacher of the Year award is reserved for exceptional educators who demonstrate outstanding instructional quality, innovative classroom practices, and a deep commitment to preparing students for future career success.
Additionally, Mrs. Thurman—who serves as the ABEA District VI Representative—received the District Representative of the Year Award in recognition of her leadership, dedicated service, and contributions to the association and fellow business educators across the state.
Over her three-year tenure at Harrison Middle School, Thurman has elevated the standard Keycode and Leadership curriculum into a dynamic, hands-on learning experience. In evaluating candidates, the selection committee highlighted her classroom leadership, meaningful community service initiatives, and impactful stewardship as the advisor for the school’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter.
