Students took a turkey outline worksheet home and worked with their families to transform it using drawings, paper, and lots of creativity. The goal was to give the turkey a disguise so it could survive Thanksgiving!
Check out some of these adorable and clever disguises! We love seeing our students work together with their families!

Our youngest artists in Harrison Preschool have been busy exploring nature and color! They created these beautiful "Fall Color Wheels" by finding and gluing colorful fall leaves. A wonderful way to learn about the season and the color spectrum!
Good job, students!

Their ability to capture compelling, split-second moments in real time is truly outstanding. We are so proud of their eye for photography and their creativity!

On this Veterans Day, November 11th, the Harrison School District extends its most profound gratitude to all the brave men and women who have served, or are currently serving, in the United States Armed Forces. Your courage, commitment, and willingness to sacrifice have ensured the freedoms we cherish every day.
We pause to honor your service to our nation, recognizing the immeasurable contribution you have made to our security and way of life.
We wish to pay special tribute to the veterans within our own Harrison community: our dedicated staff members, parents, guardians, and others. Thank you for your service.
We are honored to share a piece of history provided by one of our own, Robert Greenlee from our maintenance team, who served in Germany. This poem was displayed in his barracks and serves as a powerful reminder of the deep bonds and enduring spirit of those in uniform.
Soldier
I was that which others did not want to be
I went where others feared to go
and did what others failed to do.
I asked nothing from those who gave nothing,
and reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness should I fail.
I have seen the face of terror,
felt the stinging cold of fear,
and enjoyed the sweetest taste of a moment's love.
I have cried, pained, and hoped...
but worst of all,
I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.
At least someday, I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was.....
a soldier.
George L. Skypeck
Thank you, Robert, and thank you to every veteran who has contributed to our community and to our nation.
May this day be one of respect, remembrance, and gratitude. We salute you all.

The students have completed their beautiful "Gratitude Blocks," and they are ready to bring a smile to the faces of residents in our area nursing homes! Combining art principles with the spirit of Thanksgiving, each handmade wooden block features a heartfelt word like "Grateful," "Blessed," or "Thankful," and is accompanied by a handwritten letter explaining its personal meaning.
We are so proud of our students for using their creativity to connect with and uplift our community. Good job, Goblins!

Dear Harrison Community,
The Christmas season is fast approaching. With this in mind, we would like to extend an invitation to our
athletes, Athlete Advisory Council, district faculty and the whole Harrison community to join the athletic
department in helping some of our students in the Harrison School District experience a better
Christmas.
Many years ago, Beta Upsilon Sorority started a Christmas Shopping Spree. Students were chosen from
each campus to go on a $100 Shopping Spree at Wal-Mart. This past year we were able to take over 100
students and hope to help the same amount this year. Last year we increased that amount to $125.00
and we were still be able to take 100 students shopping.
This is how the program works: Students will be chosen by each schools’ administrators, nurses and
other faculty. 7th/8th grade and high school students will be given a gift card to Wal-Mart to be used as
they desire. Students K-6th grade will be taken by bus (with Santa driving) to Wal-Mart to shop
alongside a JR or SR athlete. We will then finish the morning off with pizza and plenty of Mountain Dew
at the Cash Center.
The number of students chosen this year will depend on the amount of donations received. If you or
your group are interested in making a donation, please send your check to Harrison High School, c/o
Kathy Williams, School Administrative Assistant, 925 Goblin Drive, Harrison, AR 72601. Checks can be
made payable to the HHS Christmas Fund. No donation is too small. Please make your donation no later
than December 10th.
Thank you and may God bless you and your family with a very Merry Christmas.
Sincerely,
Chris Pratt
Director of Athletics
Harrison School District

One of the writing forms they have studied is free verse poetry—a type of poem that uses creative language and rhythm without a strict rhyme or meter.
We are proud to share this imaginative poem by 3rd grade student Andrew Gibbs, celebrating his talent, creativity, and effort! Not only is Andrew's poem fun, but he's also got a brilliant idea for a new household appliance—talk about great forward thinking! Andrew is a student in Allison Davis classroom.
Way to go, Andrew! We can't wait to see what you and your classmates invent next!

If your student participated in Atlas Summative Assessments during the 2024-25 school year, student scores will be available this week. The email will be sent on Tuesday, November 4 by 5:00 p.m. Please note: the instructions will be delivered to the email address you have provided to the district. To view summative results, you will need to change the school year before viewing . Click here for information and a video showing you the process: https://www.harrisongoblins.org/page/assessment
