Mrs. O'Dell's Career Development students had an incredible opportunity to learn from law enforcement rangers with the Buffalo National River during a hands-on presentation about search and rescue techniques. Ranger Pete Walker and Ranger Boone Waters shared how they respond to emergencies in challenging environments such as rivers, trails, and cliffs, while explaining the teamwork, training, and quick decision-making required in rescue situations.

Students also learned how to properly and safely load an injured person into a litter basket, an important skill used to transport patients during rescues. Seeing these real-world techniques in action gave students a better understanding of careers in law enforcement, emergency response, and public service.

We appreciate the officers from the Buffalo National River for taking the time to educate and inspire our students through this engaging experience.

Sofia and Graceline did an amazing job leading the meeting and sharing a powerful lesson about sin in our lives. They used a crumpled piece of paper as an example to show how our choices can leave lasting effects and how things can never be exactly the same again.
