Mrs. Scoggins's science class was studying evidence of a chemical reaction today! Students mixed two clear solutions together and observed the formation of a precipitate, showing that a chemical change had taken place. 🧪✨

Science in action! 🧪 Mrs. Bryant’s class mixed magnesium sulfate and sodium carbonate during today’s precipitate lab, creating magnesium carbonate and sodium sulfate. Students loved seeing a chemical reaction produce a solid right before their eyes!

A message from our 5th Grade FCA 💙
Students from the Lions team shared a powerful message about how we all go through different seasons in life—much like the seasons of the year. No matter what season we may be facing, they reminded us that God is always with us.

They also handed out bracelets with Bible verses as a reminder of God’s constant presence and love. Thank you for sharing such an encouraging message!

Teambuilders are a big part of helping our EAST students grow essential skills used in EAST and throughout student life. 💡🤝
Through these activities, students learn to cooperate, communicate, problem-solve, compete with sportsmanship, lead, create, and more.

Here are a few photos from several teambuilders we’ve done in EAST this year!

🍿 Popcorn Science in Action! 🍿

Our students explored what happens when popcorn pops! When heated, the water inside the kernel turns to steam, builds pressure, and POW!—the kernel bursts open. Even though the popcorn changes shape and size, no new substance is formed, making it a physical change.

Learning science through hands-on labs is always a poppin’ good time!

🔥 Tea Bag Rocket Lab! 🚀

When we light the tea bag, it rises into the air because of convection currents. The heat warms the air, making it less dense so it rises, while cooler air moves in to take its place. This movement of air creates enough lift to send the tea bag flying!

Science in action—and the students loved it! 🧪✨

Harrison Middle School Student Council Food Drive for Ozark Share & Care

Christmas Spirit Week, Dec. 8th - 13th, Student Council members collected canned and packaged food donations. Whether it was canned goods, pasta, or rice, every single item donated made a big difference.

Each grade competed to donate the most food. It’s a time when we focus not just only on receiving, but on showing kindness and helping others. Our wonderful 5th graders have truly shown the spirit of Christmas by winning the contest. To celebrate, our Student Council members made a presentation to the entire 5th grade class. Each student received a candy cane and a heartfelt "thank-you" for thinking of others during this season of giving.
