This weekend is the annual Grass Volleyball Tournament for teams of students from grades 7 - 12. Put together your co-ed team, fill out the online registration, and come compete! Money raised goes to the John Watkins Memorial scholarship.
There was an ambulance at HMS for medical transport for a student who is ok but experiencing a medical situation. The parents of the child have already been notified.
Reminder: Come out and help our PTA support our HMS students and staff at Trivia Night on Tuesday of next week (September 10)! Our PTA has worked hard on this and do so many things for our school! There are many wonderful silent auction items available, to include 'experiences' events, thanks to our community partners!
Mrs. O’Dell’s Career Development students enjoyed Get Real-Here’s the Deal yesterday! Community partners participated in this real life interactive day by providing 'jobs with designated income' to the students and then the students seeing what it costs monthly to live and to make decisions on what you can/cannot afford. We want to thank our partners for volunteering their time to help us!
We had a fantastic kick off for 5th Grade FCA with 55 students! Wow! Our guest speaker was Angi Boaz, who is newly employed by FCA. The students enjoyed her message and the doughnuts so much!

There were great debates today in 8th grade Tools for Learning. Brilliant debaters on both sides; ask your 8th grader! 8th grade science class had a lot of hands on learning going on today as well! It was a great week 2 at HMS!

We are so proud of this young man and his #positiveprincipalreferral . This is the first one of the school year!
Positive principal referrals are awarded by teachers when they see students doing positive things around the school that support our school goals of being respectful, responsible, and safe. Students come to the Assistant Principals office, parents get a good phone call home, students get free food coupons, their picture on our facebook page (with parent approval) and their name on a bingo card. If they are on a row that earns a bingo, those students get a pizza party! We love celebrating our students doing great things and exhibiting good character traits!
