Through collaboration between Mrs. Benton’s Accelerated Language Arts class and Mrs. Beardsley’s EAST class, students are applying problem-solving skills and working together to manage the system and monitor plant growth.
The boys are also stepping into leadership roles by teaching younger students about hydroponics and how to build their own system using recycled materials.
This week, they will be planting tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro, and peppers. Stay tuned for updates as their project continues to grow.

Tonight our entire band program, from 7th grade through 12th, will take the stage for our 2026 Pre-Assessment Concert. This is a very special night, as it is the only concert all year when every ensemble in our program performs at the same event!
Event Details:
When: Tomorrow, March 3rd
Time: Doors open at 6:15 PM | Concert begins at 6:30 PM
Where: Harrison High School Performing Arts Center
Admission: Free!
Why Your Attendance Matters: The 8th grade band, High School Concert Band, and High School Symphonic Band will be competing in the ASBOA Region VI Concert Assessment on March 14th. This assessment is the musical equivalent of our annual state testing, and our students have been working incredibly hard to prepare.
Performing for a live audience tonight is a crucial part of their preparation. We would love to have a full house to cheer them on and give them the best possible practice run before their assessment!
Thank you for your continued support of our band program. We look forward to seeing you there.

Our 8th-grade Menu Adventure students just wrapped up a two-week knife skills unit that was a total cut above the rest!
After perfecting their technical knife skills using student-made playdough, these young chefs stepped into the kitchen lab to master the real deal. The grand finale? A high-stakes Charcuterie Challenge where students created stunning displays of meats, cheeses, and fruits.
The best part — our school staff served as official judges, casting votes for their favorite boards based on presentation and technique. It was easily one of the most popular (and delicious!) assignments of the year!
We are so proud of the focus, creativity, and teamwork these students brought to the kitchen! 👏✨

Yesterday, Mrs. Wollick had three choral groups assessed at the ARKCDA Region Choral Performance Assessment hosted at HHS — and we are thrilled to share that ALL THREE choirs earned a Division 1 (highest rating) plaque for both their stage performance and sight-reading!
This is no small feat and reflects countless hours of hard work, preparation, and dedication. We are so proud of our HMS choir students and Mrs. Wollick for representing our school with excellence.
If you see a choir student today, be sure to congratulate them on a stellar performance!
Congratulations, Mrs. Wollick, for your continued dedication to our students and for setting such a high standard for music education in our district. We are lucky to have you! 🎼✨

We’ve had an exciting amount of interest in our 5th grade girls basketball team for the upcoming local peewee league!
If your daughter is interested in playing, please plan to attend a practice on Monday, March 2nd at 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM in the arena.
We can’t wait to see all of our future Lady Goblins there! 💙🏀

This year’s theme, “Gotta Be Jazz,” has inspired some creative and colorful pieces that will be on display during the concert. Students are also putting the finishing touches on a few fun 3D projects to make the evening even more special.
We have truly enjoyed collaborating on so many great projects this year and love seeing our students’ talents shine in different ways! 💛🎷✨

👨👩👦 A Parent meeting will be held after teams are formed.

This is the final reminder from the band directors to return the Instrument Fitting Sheet to your homeroom teacher. They will be going through all returned forms tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon and start determining the instrumentation for each student. Forms can still be returned through this week, but the likelihood of a student receiving their top instrument choice will be much less. Thank you!
We need your help. 21st CCLC programming needs familes/caregivers to complete this survey. If you have a student that has been attending after school programming at Forest Heights, Skyline Heights or at Middle School, can you please click the survey link below. This data will help afterschool programs identify what is going well and areas in which they can improve. We appreciate your help!
